Copthorne Hotel Wellington Oriental Bay in New Zealand, recently took part in this year's Visa Wellington On a Plate, one of New Zealand's premier culinary festivals. The hotel’s signature dining venue, One80 Restaurant, proudly representing the hotel in the popular Burger Wellington competition.

The annual festival celebrates the creativity and diversity of Wellington's hospitality scene, with more than 240 participating cafés and restaurants showcasing original burger creations inspired by the theme, "Word of Mouth."

Leading the hotel's participation was Head Chef Analia Iglesias, who made her debut in the festival as Head Chef. Drawing on her Argentinian roots, she created the Porteña Burger, a flavourful tribute to the culture, community and vibrant food traditions of Buenos Aires.

The burger reflected Chef Analia's personal story and culinary heritage, bringing together bold flavours and authentic influences while offering Wellington diners a unique taste of Argentina. Her creation embodied the festival's spirit of celebrating the stories and connections that food can inspire.

The event provided an excellent platform for Copthorne Hotel Wellington, Oriental Bay and One80 Restaurant to showcase their culinary talent, creativity and commitment to delivering memorable dining experiences for both hotel guests and the local community.
